If you melded Chavela Vargas, Ella Fitzgerald and Gal Costa together, you’d find her voice there somewhere in between…

 –  2017 Latin Grammy award winning producer and percussionist, Felipe Fournier:

Consistently delivering an ocean of rhythmic, seductive, and energetic symphony, Claudia evokes sounds of reflection with an array of music, that while deeply rooted in the golden era of Mexican music and traditions, spans across the whole world. Soulful arrangements of original and classic boleros, rancheras, son jarocho, cumbias, and indigenous pieces, it’s an emotional journey inward that she embarks on with her audience, invoking essences of Chavela, Ella, Gal, Nina and more.

Singer, dancer and jaranera, and daughter of Mexican and Jamaican immigrants, she has recorded/toured the US/Mexico as lead singer with Afro-Mexican band Jarana Beat, and Latin Grammy Award winning/Grammy nominated all female mariachi band, Flor de Toloache. Last Spring she closed the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, toured Andalucía as a soloist, and has performed at venues such as Joe’s Pub, Carnegie Hall and the Shanghai Expo. She was also co-founder, outreach director, dancer and teacher with Calpulli Mexican Dance Company.

Claudia has studied voice, music and dance with renowned teachers in their own right, such as Gema Corredera, Ilana Martin, Barbara Maier Gustern, Rubi Oseguera, Sonia Olla, Ismael Fernandez, Torombo Suárez, Claudio Vega, Andrés Flores among others. She is currently studying with Mr. Don Lawrence, and working on her first solo album with Latin Grammy award winning producer and percussionist, Felipe Fournier.
